During this unit, students conducted research on animals' internal and external structures. In addition, they learned how animals use their senses to adapt and survive in their environments. These presentations were the culminating project that displayed all they had learned! Great job 4T! |
Celebrating Black History
During the month of February, 4T students researched an influential Black American. They learned about their accomplishments as well as obstacles they faced during their lifetimes. With this information, students created a banner honoring these heroes. In addition, students worked in groups to create murals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and Barack Obama. These banners and posters are displayed proudly outside of our room to keep the celebration going even though February has ended. |
The French Quarter
After learning about the French Quarter in Louisiana, students celebrated in class by having a Mardi Gras themed party. Students made masks and paraded around the classroom and school. In addition, students had an opportunity to try Cajun alligator jerky! What a fun way to bring a part of the Southeast Region to Bloomington.
Southeast States and Capitals
To help the class memorize their states and capitals for the Southeast Region, Miss Kern came up with this awesome song. Listen and watch as the class sings it together. What a great way for the students to practice!
